Since its foundation, Meccanotecnica Umbra has always chosen to protect and safeguard the values which inspire the company's pursuit of business, such as compliance with legislation, transparent conduct, and embracing a concrete responsibility towards the environment, workers, the communities in which it operates and all stakeholders.
The company guarantees the correct implementation and utmost dissemination of the Corporate Code of Ethics, in compliance with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Organisation, Management and Control Model pursuant to Legislative Decree 231/01.
SA8000 is a voluntary standard that defines the requirements to be met by organisations in order to recognise human and workers' rights and improve conditions in the workplace.
The core elements of this standard are based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the ILO conventions, international human rights standards and national labour laws.
In November-December 2022, Meccanotecnica certified its Corporate Social Responsibility Management System in accordance with the SA8000 standard. To this end, procedures on child labour and compulsory labour were drawn up, a risk assessment was carried out, and suppliers were evaluated and involved in the dissemination of the principles of the standard.
